The San Mateo County Astronomical Society holds a general meeting the first Friday of each month, except July and August, at 7:30 p.m. We invite you to join us at 7:30PM for Pizza and to meet fellow astronomy enthusiasts.
We meet in the Integrated Student Center of building 36 at the College of San Mateo. We then move to the Planetarium for the evening's presentation at 8:00PM.
Parking is free in the adjacent well-lighted parking lot, marked Marie Curie Lot 5, Click HERE for directions.
Our guest speakers are professionals working on the leading edges of Astronomy, Cosmology, Planetary Exploration, Astrobiology, Solar Research, Aerospace Engineering and similar disciplines. Our location enables us to engage speakers from institutions like the SETI Institute, NASA, SLAC and USGS, from colleges and universities such as Stanford and campuses in the UC, CSU, and community college systems.
Our meetings are open to the public and free. Children are welcome although the subjects may be too advanced for some.
