The San Mateo Astronomical Society conducts outreach programs which bring astronomy and an appreciation of science to schools, organizations and the general public. We do this through formal programs such as Project Astro (putting an astronomer in the classroom) and informal programs including public astronomy events, presentations to organizations and public Star Parties.
If you would like to contribute to this effort you are encouraged to join our organization. If this is not feasible, we accept donations of both money and equipment.
If you have unused telescopes or other astronomical equipment we will gladly accept it and either get it out to schools and other charitable organizations or use it in our outreach efforts.
If you wish to donate equipment, please drop a note to SMCAS@live.com or call Ed Pieret at (650) 862-9602.
For cash donations you can send a check to SMCAS, at PO Box 974, Station A, San Mateo, CA 94403 or click below to charge it to your credit card.
